Pennies for Robert provides travel funds for cancer patients coming to Pierre for treatment or leaving our community for treatment.

The fund was started in 2004 in memory of Robert Disburg by his grandparents Jack and Jo Mitchell. Since then over 1.1 MILLION DOLLARS has been distributed for cancer travel.

Countryside does not reimburse for actual travel expenses but provides a stipend to assist with gas and lodging.

There are no income guidelines, no limit to the number of times you can request funds and the application process only requires a phone call 605-945-0827.

Rally for Robert Dice Run – September 6th

Rev Up for the Rally for Robert Dice Run – Friday, September 6th!  Get ready to hit the open road for a great cause! The Rally for Robert Dice Run returns on Friday, September 6th, featuring a 136-mile scenic route starting at Beck Motors. Whether you drive a car or ride a motorcycle, this event welcomes all who love the thrill of the road and the spirit of giving.  Before the run begins, enjoy a Car & Motorcycle Show during registration, with trophies awarded during the meal at Cactus Jakes.

2025 Penny War – Pennies for Robert

Pierre and Ft. Pierre businesses were invited to participate in the Pennies for Robert Penny War starting June 22nd and running thru July 17th.  Funds raised from this event will benefit the Pennies for Robert program at Countryside.  These funds support cancer patients traveling to Pierre for treatments at the Helmsley Center or patients in our area traveling out of town for cancer treatments.
