You do not have to be an artist to volunteer. Substitute volunteers are also needed.

What is OMA:
An evidence-based program based on an understanding of dementia & the needs of persons living with dementia.
- Freely express themselves/positive emotions
- Social interaction with trained volunteers
- “Failure free” creation of complex abstract art
- An informal coffee group will be available for caregivers.
Who should attend OMA?
- Persons with moderate to severe memory loss
Who should volunteer?
- Someone who is positive, flexible, patient, respectful, responsible, sociable and able to listen.
- Volunteers do not need to have an art background.
- Volunteers who receive specialized training work 1:1 with the “artists” – the free class meets for one hour once a week for 6 weeks.
