The purpose of Countryside Support & Memory Center is to provide diverse programs for individuals in the community who are faced with cancer, memory loss and end of life needs.
Our programs include the Memory Center, St. Benedict’s Guest House, and the Pennies for Robert Cancer Travel Funds Program. Support groups are available for dementia caregivers and Parkinson’s patients. See our Calendar of Events for dates and times.
Countryside provides free memory screenings for memory loss patients and support services for their families.
The Pennies for Robert provides travel funds for cancer patients who live within 70 miles of Pierre/Fort Pierre who need to travel for cancer treatment, or for cancer patients coming into our community to the Helmsley Center. Lodging provided for Helmsley Center patients at the St. Benedict’s Guest House (call Avera Social Work Department at 224-3100 to check availability).
Countryside Support & Memory Center supports Avera@Home Hospice with a monthly donation that goes directly to hospice patient needs in our area for items not covered by insurance.
The Countryside Thrift Store operates on donations from the community and a volunteer base of over 80 volunteers! The store provides ongoing support for all of our programs.
We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and operate on donations, memorials and proceeds from the Countryside Thrift Store.
